Public editorial policy

Editorial standards

How Texas Growth Watch selects projects, evaluates sources, labels uncertainty, handles corrections and updates the public record.

Our mission

Texas Growth Watch helps Texans understand major development through verified public records and clear, plain-English context. The goal is to make public information easier to find, understand, and follow over time.

What we track

Major projects

Data centers, manufacturing, energy, water, transportation, ports, industrial development and utility infrastructure.

Public decisions

Permits, hearings, moratoriums, incentive agreements, infrastructure commitments and significant litigation.

Community absorption

How built projects affect housing, roads, utilities, public services, schools, workforce and local governance.

How projects are selected

Texas Growth Watch is curated, not exhaustive. Projects are selected based on expected economic impact, infrastructure demand, public investment, regional significance, environmental implications, public interest and uniqueness.

Source designations

ConfirmedOfficial public record

Supported directly by permits, agendas, filings, court records, environmental notices or public agreements.

ReportedCredible reporting

Supported by established news organizations or company announcements, but not yet fully reflected in public records.

DevelopingStill being verified

Early information that appears credible but requires additional public confirmation. These entries are clearly labeled and updated as records emerge.

Update and correction policy

Weekly review

The tracker is reviewed weekly, with priority updates when major permits, hearings, incentive agreements, lawsuits, moratoriums or infrastructure impacts become public.

Corrections

Correction requests are reviewed against the underlying public record. Entries may be updated, relabeled, archived or removed as better evidence becomes available.

Contact

Transparency and independence

Every project links to underlying sources whenever possible. When public records and news reports differ, official records control. Inclusion does not imply support for or opposition to any project.
